Sobon Estate winery was started in 1989 when Leon and Shirley Sobon bought the historic D'Agostini Winery, one of the oldest in the state. This winery is California State Historic Landmark #762. It houses a Free Museum of Local History.
The Sobon Estate label launched the estate line of wines for the Sobon Family -- the best wines from their own 160 acres of grapes. These include Rhone varietals, vineyard designated Zinfandels, and tasting room-only dessert wines. About the Winemakers
Paul Sobon is the second generation of the Sobon family to lead the winemaking team. Paul’s previous experience in Australia and Bordeaux, France; his on the job training; and his "can-do" attitude makes him a natural for the position.
Natural winemaking is our goal, with special care given to every barrel and every bottle. We strive to produce the highest quality wine possible and to fully express the true flavors and aromas of each grape variety and the soil from which they are grown Our EventsContent on this page provided by the individual winery.
