Winery History
Gold Note Winery is located in Fair Play, California. Our unique grape-growing region is a historic gold mining area. Our vineyards are within view of Gold Note Ridge which stretches from California’s El Dorado National Forest, near Lake Tahoe, down to the Fair Play wine appellation. This Ridge, named for the paper gold note certificates that the 49er miners exchanged gold nuggets for during the California gold rush, inspired the name of our distinctive wines.

Gold Note's vineyard is located in Fair Play, California, in El Dorado County. We make our award-winning wines in the classic tradition from grapes grown in the Fair Play American Viticultural Area.
