Loading media...

Regions and Vineyards

Rough and Ready, Murphys, Plymouth, Mt Aukum, Lodi

Wineries

Coufos Cellars, Frog's Tooth Vineyards, Karly, Mount Aukum Winery, Ripken Vineyards, Stevenot Winery, Terre Rouge & Easton Wines, Twisted Oak Winery

Flavor

Peaches and apricots, often with almond overtones

Body

Fairly rich and full-bodied, with more weight than commonly found in white wines, but likely to feel soft rather than firm

At the table, pour it with...

Marsanne has the flesh and bones to pair with a variety of foods gussied up with shameless accompaniments, such as chicken braised with 40 cloves of garlic, or trout filled with raisins.

Curiosities

Marsanne only rarely is released as a varietal, and most often is blended with its Rhone Valley sisters, viognier and roussanne.
